About the earring
Measuring a lobe-tastic 10 cm long and almost 2 cm wide, these bishes are created from acrylic offcuts to make sure nothing is wasted. Created in collaboration with Amanda from Amandala Life, these queens debuted at Big Thick Energy x A Plus Market — a safe and supportive space for fat babes to shake what their mama gave them.
Available in matching pairs or startling combinations, there’s also the option for a sparkly surprise where I just choose for you and you trust the goddesses to deliver.
Options available:

A note about language
When I’m not co-creating feminist accessories, I’m a copywriter — so I know (and love) the power of words.
Words are just letters, grouped together, that we give meaning. Those meanings can change, and we can define them for ourselves. The three words on these earrings can conjure up more meaning than most. Here’s roughly how I define them, so if you’re on board with that, have at it…
Thick → strong, wide, sturdy, and not thin; celebrating bodies that are not typically celebrated, with full respect to those who have their fatness weaponised against them; acknowledging the black and brown cultures that popularised the term
Queen → a term of endearment, gender-inclusive, looking and feeling your finest, but not ruling over others; acknowledging its roots in drag and queer culture
Bitch → historically used as a pejorative term to demonise and undermine the power of women, or emasculate men, we take that power back and use one of the best sounding words in the English language to mean sassy, powerful and in charge. A word we must use responsibly, we also love this from the Queen’s Journal:
“‘Bitch’ has some serious etymological baggage; however, many women today have reclaimed the term as a big ‘fuck you’ to the patriarchy. Women have earned our right to the word “bitch,” and we should be able to use it as we please. But where do genderfluid, nonbinary, and transitioning folks land in this unspoken, linguistic cluster? There’s no single right answer to these questions, but before you start throwing the term around, reflect on your own gender identity and those you are speaking to.”
